Termites can damage plastics in several ways; however, the most likely place for them to attack is in underground burials and on the ground surface if they come in contact with termites. Most anti-termite cable protection is required to protect fiber optic communication cables with HDPE sheathing, which is vulnerable to attack by termites compared to polyamide. A termite repellent masterbatch is made up of a mixture of numerous non-toxic, low-odor, and highly bitter compounds, which will dissuade pests from biting the plastics again.
